We will finish up with large sea creatures this week and learn about small sea creatures next week. (Jellyfish, sea star, seahorse, sea sponge and x-ray fish)
This week we are deep in the oceans talking about sharks! We made shark fins; this was to help the kids understand that shark skin may look smooth but it actually feels very rough because it is made up of tiny teeth-like structures. We put glue on the fins and then sprinkled black sand. This was a great way to show the kids the texture of sharks. We have talked about shark's teeth; they can have hundreds of teeth and many rows so that when one falls out, another is ready to take its place. We had fun putting together our sharks today......getting all the kids to look at me for their picture is another project! We will finish up with large sea creatures this week and learn about small sea creatures next week. (Jellyfish, sea star, seahorse, sea sponge and x-ray fish)
