We had another great week learning all about turkeys. Your child should know the difference between a tom and a hen. We made shape turkeys, painted turkeys with marbles and color matching turkeys. We also read the book I know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie! We made a paper bag old lady and the kids fed her while we read the story. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Pilgrims, Mayflower, Native Americans and much more! We read the story of the first Thanksgiving. The first Thanksgiving happened a long time ago. We sorted pictures into 2 groups while talking about things that happened long ago and today. The kids learned a new song, Long Ago, about the Pilgrims that came here and things were different then. Such as long ago they used a fire pit to cook today we use a stove. Ask you child to sing the song to you! Your child should also be able to tell you the name of the boat the Pilgrims sailed on to Plymouth Rock and that the Native Americans taught the Pilgrims how to grow food.
We also worked on letter Ll, numbers 5 &6, tracing, sorting and counting. We had a great Halloween party and we also made a few fun crafts. We will begin a new unit next week.
