We've started a new unit; On the Go. The kids will explore the fascinating world of transportation. They will design a road, traffic signal and bridge. Your child will explore flight in an airplane, a hot air balloon and a helicopter. Then, make a boat and test in in the water. Letters C, T and W Shape triangle Numbers 5 and 6 Color orange We wrapped up our "In the Orchard" unit this week. The kids learned the parts of a walnut & chestnut. They can describe an avocado, banana & peach and identify fruits that have pits. This week we learned about animals that live in an orchard; porcupines, birds, bugs, raccoon's and squirrels. We talked about animals that help in an orchard and those that are orchard pests. We finished up letter O and are starting on R. My older kids are also working on sight words and their progress is amazing. Your child should be able to identify and describe the parts of a tree: seeds, roots, trunk, branches and leaves. They should also be able to describe the inside of a tree trunk, identify things that grow on branches and explain why leaves change color and fall off of trees in the fall.
