Spring Fun.....

Tons of sunshine today....but I did not take any pics outside! I guess we were having too much fun!  Walked to the greenbelt and played in the yard.

We played Sneaky Pig. We recited a poem, Sneaky Pig, Sneaky Pig, Where can He be? Pick a barn. Let's look and see. The kids took turns guessing where the sneaky pig was hiding. They would say, "Let's look behind red door number 1." We took turns until we found where the sneaky pig was hiding.

The older kids created a farm mural for our upcoming farm theme.
Muddy pigs! I added some mud (brown paint) to the pigs and tomorrow the kids will clean the pigs and see what letter is on each pig.
The pig alphabet cards are by Modern Preschool.

In the spring, it usually rains a lot!  The rain helps all of the trees, flowers, and animals grow.
We learned how to use a pipette to transfer water.  Once we mastered the pinching and releasing we did the rain cloud in a jar science experiment using shaving cream and colored water.

Clouds are made up of little drops of water.  There are many different types of clouds.  Today we learned about 3 different types; cumulus, stratus and cirrus.  We used shaving cream and glue to make clouds on paper.  We also used shaving cream to make the letter Cc.  These boys loved the shaving cream!

Today we learned about sheep and sang Baa Baa Black Sheep nursery rhyme. We discussed how sheep are covered in wool and the farmers shear the sheep.  We talked about how the wool is soft and made into yarn.
We used clothes pins and cotton balls to trace the letters of their names with black paint.
The kids were invited to create a picture using a piece of yarn and paint!  They each picked the color they wanted to use and we finished up coloring a sheep and a mini nursery rhyme book.

We read Humpty Dumpty quite a  few times, used a rectangle sponge to paint a brick wall and colored a picture of Humpty Dumpty.  The kids helped Humpty Dumpty fix his cracks with a bandaid.   I think the bandaid was their favorite part.
We used blocks to build a wall.  Each child chose an egg to use as Humpty falling off the wall.  Plastic eggs are very entertaining for lil ones!

We had a small group this week but we kept busy.  The weather was beautiful so we took advantage and spent a lot of time outside and in the green belt.  Have a Happy Easter!
