They worked in their journals today!  They were encouraged to cut ovals and make into a crab and draw a jelly fish.  The older kids asked to write words in their journals. I love these requests!
They were given dot stickers (hard to see in picture but there are letters written on the dots) they matched to the correct column on the wall.

Shipwreck...

Many shipwrecks are caused by big storms that create large waves in the ocean. Pieces of ships can sink to the bottom of the ocean. Treasures such as gold, jewels and expensive art have been found in shipwrecks. They colored a treasure chest, cut cards and matched in their chest.
They used rocks and gems to create letters in play dough.
The younger kids colored in their journals the older kids made patterns using dot stickers.

Sea Star....

Sea stars are invertebrates, meaning they do not have a backbone. They have hard, bumpy skin that protects them from predators. Sea stars have five arms that can wraparound their prey and squeeze it. Sea stars can be a variety of colors. A sea star may lose one of its arms, but don't worry, it can grow back! They created a bumpy sea star using glue, shaving cream and a squeeze bottle.
They were encouraged to sea animals in their book, they did such a great job!  The younger kiddos sorted stickers in their journals.

Rainbowfish....

Rainbow fish are small tropical fish know for their brightly colored scales. They are not born colorful; rainbowfish become more vibrant as they age. During this Invitation to Create, children designed their own rainbowfish with paper, paint sticks and large sequins. Through this process, children explored using reflective materials to create unique designs.
As a group we made a colorful rainbowfish!  They took turns rolling the color cube, identified the color and colored the fish.

Seahorse...

Seahorses are small fish that breathe through gills. They have tiny, spiny plates on their bodies and their head resembles a horse. The female lays her eggs in the male seahorse's pouch. He carries the eggs before they hatch. Seahorses have small fins that propel them forward in the water. They created their own seahorses using tissue paper and markers.
