Last week your child learned about pine trees, snow flakes and pinecones. We made a prediction about what would happen to a pinecone in water. Most kids said it would be soft! They got to see the pinecone all closed up after being submerged in water for about an hour. We took a field trip to McDonald's Playland to release some energy and get some exercise. Our winter break starts next Thursday. Stay warm this weekend!
This month your child will experience the beauty of the forest as he learns about the animals that run, play or hibernate in the winter woods. He will build a bear den, decorate a snowman and create a cozy fireplace. This winter in the woods is full of fun and surprises.

It's hard to believe a week of December is already gone! We wrapped up our Community Helpers unit this week and are moving right into Winter in the Woods. Last month the kids learned about the many different roles people in our communities share. We talked about firefighters, doctors, dentists, police, teachers, construction workers, chefs and many other roles. They were able to explore who keeps us safe and who helps us learn and grow. We are thankful for all the jobs people do in our communities. The kids were able to dream big, play hard and learned together in this town helper theme.
