We made guitars and talked about playing the guitar as everyone sings familiar songs together around the campfire.  With a little help and some fine motor skill practice we had some good looking guitars.  They had fun making up silly songs and "playing" their guitars.    

All the kids are back!  We had a great week and we've started our Camping theme.  Your child will learn all the exciting things about camping.  This week we explored many of the things you'd see and bring on a camping trip.  Backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, campfires and singing around a campfire.  And we made a few trips to the park while we still have beautiful weather!

Color - Blue

One of the songs the kids really liked this week was:
To the tune of "Row Your Boat".
Sleep, sleep, sleep outside,
In a sleeping bag.
Cozy and warm,
Cozy and warm,
In my sleeping bag.

They also enjoyed hearing each of their names during our circle time rhyme:
Down at the campsite,
Inside our tent,
Is a cozy little sleeping bag,
Where we sleep.
Along came (insert child's name),
Tired as can be,
He curls up inside,
And doesn't make a peep!

Today was the first day of school for several of the kids.  We had a great day and can't wait for all the others to join us next week!  Hope you all had a fantastic summer.  We are looking forward to another fun filled year with the kids. 

I had a few visitors over summer break.  We had some fun field trips to the pool, Bear Creek Greenbelt,Red Rocks and the park!  Summer break is rapidly coming to an end.  I am excited to have everyone back in the next few weeks.
