Saturn is a gas giant. It is known for its many rings made of rock and ice. Each child was given a piece of paper and I described the planet Saturn. As I read aloud each step they would draw. This was a fun exercise and the kids enjoyed creating their own Saturn! We also took a circle, colored as desired, and we wrapped yarn around Saturn.
A galaxy is a cluster of billions of stars. We live in the galaxy called the Milky Way. The Milky Way cluster can be seen in the sky on very dark nights. We made a family galaxy. Each child was given a star and they drew their family on the stars! We also made our own galaxy using paper, glue, paint and glitter!
