Each day we try to do a few minutes in our fine motor journals, and we work on their names daily. The younger children used stickers (great fine motor exercise), colored their names, and practiced cutting and tearing. They cut index cards (easier for the new learners) and strips of paper. The older children sorted numbers and letters in their fine motor journals. Cut and pasted strips of paper. One of the kiddos, cut paper, and lined up the two different colors (see pic) and said, "It is like blue vs. green!" I love to hear their thought processes. They played with the family counters and magnets, open play encourages collaboration, sharing, counting, sorting and conversation. Happy Hump Day!
