Wow! Crazy weather we had this week. We experienced our first "bomb cyclone." The 'bombing' occurs when a low pressure system’s central pressure falls 24 millibars in 24 hours or less. It was much like a blizzard in our part of town without too much snow, lots of wind and low visibility. We all are safe and sound and the kids had a couple of snow days! Thank you to all the first responders, police officers, hospital personnel and linesmen that have been working around the clock through the storm to keep us safe and trying to restore lost power.
We had a short week for pre school.....
Uranus is a cold and windy ice giant. It has 27 moons. Uranus is a light bluish green color and has rings. It would take many years to reach Uranus. During this Invitation to Create the kids (older kids) used foil to create an "icy" planet. The younger kids painted with foil to create their Uranus.
Counting in Space; Uranus has 27 moons. We set out rocks and guessed if there were more than 27 just by looking at the pile. We used rocks and stars to solve math problems.
Planet Word Builders; we matched letters to the planet name to build the words.
To finish our short we drew cute leprechauns. They did such a great job!
