Today we read When I Build with Blocks by Niki Alling. We used blocks and mini erasers to build fences, bridges, houses or whatever they wanted to build. Of course, I sprinkled in some literacy by adding letter blocks! There was so much conversation going on at the table. This is exactly what kids need, play! Let their little minds run free.
We also traced shapes, worked on some counting, and letters. The older kids traced the letters with expo markers and the younger kids built the letters with mini erasers. They covered up the matching letter with pumpkin erasers.
