We are starting our Bees & Butterflies unit. Your child will start by investigating the bee's body parts, life and work. He will explore the shape of a honeycomb and then build his own beehive.
Beehives are the homes of worker bees, drones and the queen bee. Bees do more than just live inside these fascinating domes; everyone has specific jobs to do to make their colony function. During this Invitation to Create, students experimented with stamping and creating their own unique beehive designs. They explored using textured materials (bubble wrap), and even their own fingerprints to create a beehive.
