One of our little friends brought us a big bag of apples from his apple tree! Today we made apple muffins. I modeled how to cut an apple very carefully and they did such a terrific job chopping up their apples slices. We measured, scooped, stirred, counted and poured the ingredients and popped them in the oven. We discussed all the different things you can make with apples; applesauce, apple pie, and cooked apples. The best part......they are learning so much as they are baking treats.
The younger kiddos played in the mini apple sensory bin while the older kids baked. They also got to scoop, pour, stir and play with mini apples (dried chickpeas).
We made apple name puzzles, sorted letters and worked on Ll. The older kids sorted upper case and lower case letters F, H, T and L the younger kids sorted upper case only.
