Paul Bunyan and the Log Jam Part 2......we extended this activity over a couple of days. Today we made a river on paper, added some trees, pebbles and sticks to create another log jam. They all worked together to draw trees, dirt and water. We also went outdoors to our water table to watch water move and make it stop by creating a log jam with sticks!

Paul Bunyan and the Log Jam - part 1. Paul Bunyan and Babe helped the loggers during a log jam. A log jam is when logs clog or jam up a river. We used stacking pebbles, card board rolls and sticks to pretend and create a log jam. We stacked pebbles and worked together to create a log jam!
Here is a peek at our October name recognition practice! Today we pretended we were at a pumpkin patch and we searched for the letters of our name to put in our wheel barrows! We always count the letters in our name and we also point to each pumpkin and say the letter. Happy Fall!
Sourdough Sam cooked huge flapjacks for Paul Bunyan to eat. Flapjacks are another word for pancakes. We made our own cooking pan and added breakfast pieces. We pretended to flip food in our pans. Of course, we had flapjacks for lunch!! Have a wonderful weekend!
