The Baobab is sometimes called the "Tree of Life." Baobab trees can provide shelter, food and water for animals and humans. The pod-like fruit on the tree is very nutritious and is eaten by people and animals. Baboons love to eat baobab fruit!
They were encouraged to draw a tree in their journals. We played a game using pocket cube and cube cards Rr, Cc and Ss. They rolled cube, identified the letter and placed the fruit (pom-pom) in the corresponding letter.
As an extension of the beetle lesson, they painted with beetles! Fun and messy!
