We learned that pigs like to stay cool and clean, and that a sow (mother pig) gives birth to piglets. Even though pigs have poor eyesight, they make up for it with their amazing sense of smell. They use their snouts to dig, move things, and search for food, and did you know they’re considered one of the most intelligent animals on the farm?
For our craft, the children made their very own pig noses using a cup, string, and a paint stick and we finished painting with mud!
In our fine motor journals we practiced writing the letter Oo. We used grapes and cookies to create Oo's.
For some open ended play I game them sticks and pig counters, they played for almost 45 minutes with just these two items. Putting their little minds to work!
The younger kiddos looked for eggs in the coop in again and played with a peacock sorting toy.
It was such a fun and busy farm day! 🚜🐓🐖
