We learned that animals such as dogs, cats, and even fish often carry their babies in their mouths. To explore this idea, the children created a fun fish cup craft. They practiced their fine motor skills by cutting small scraps of paper and placing them inside their fish “mouths,” pretending to safely carry their baby fish along.
For letter Qq, the children drew spiders to help connect the letter shape to something familiar. We talked about how the circle and straight line in the letter Q look similar to a spider’s body and leg. This helped strengthen letter recognition while encouraging creativity and visual awareness. The kiddos drew adorable spiders in their journals and used stickers to help form both uppercase and lowercase Qq.
We ended the day drawing a picture of an animal we'd like to see!
