A firefighter is someone who saves people from burning buildings and helps with car accidents. They need to be fit and strong enough to carry the 75 pounds of gear.
Fire can sometimes look as if it were dancing. The color of the flames tells us how hot the fire is. White flames are the hottest and red flames are the coolest (but still hot!). During this Invitation to Create, the children experimented with mixing some of the colors of fire. They used a fork to create dancing flames.
They snipped paper and created a fire fighter hat. They used stickers to create the letter Ee.
For math, they used fire truck counters. They picked a card, identified the number and found the corresponding firehouse.
